The shipping container hostel was designed to be easily constructed in various locations, currently situated in the Czech Republic. The container hostel was designed to be self-sufficient and eco-friendly, while providing comfortable lodging accommodations. Formed from three shipping containers, the structure includes a horizontal 40 foot container that is placed on top of two 20 foot containers. Overall, the container hostel includes five rooms that can fit a total of 13 guests, plus shared outdoor terraces for guests to enjoy. Small in footprint, the minimal interiors are open, airy, and filled with light. All rooms have one fully-glazed wall to create a feeling of openness, transparency, and a connection to the outdoors. Walls and ceilings are wrapped in birch plywood matching the custom furniture which highlights the with industrial look and feel of container structure.

These gorgeous containers, created by owner Matt White, set an ultimate example of how to bring together repurposed materials and create something beautiful. The interiors are cladded with sustainably harvested wood as well as reclaimed lumber from across America. Windows were salvaged from a school in Philadelphia that was up for demolition.
